We are seeking to recruit a Finance Manager to manage the local Finance Department to ensure an effective and efficient financial service and support function is provided to the Sales company in line with EMEAR guidelines. The successful candidate will not only manage the UK Finance team but also liaise with the Heads of the Business Units to support them in their processes and procedures and ensure budgets are met ensuring adherence to group & local accounting practices.

The role is based at our Sales and Marketing Office in Hemel Hempstead, UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations and payments of the Finance Department, ensuring that transactions are processed on a complete, timely, and accurate basis
  • Improve and optimize the efficiency of the Finance Department, in line with the EMEAR policies and processes

  • Ensure that the Sales Company's accounting and reporting compliance responsibilities are maintained within each of the territories that it operates
  • Ensure that credit management is carried out in compliance with the internal guidelines and the external contract with the credit insurer
  • Assist in developing and enhancing internal controls for the local Sales Company
  • Define the relevant J-Sox controls in cooperation with the central Internal Audit team and ensure their implementation
  • Ensure that tax and transfer price compliance is maintained
  • Manage external tax audits
  • Manage the J-Sox and other internal and external audits

  • Ensure that financial records are maintained by ensuring accurate journals and reconciliation of accounts
  • Responsible for the timely production of monthly management accounts, and the reporting thereof to the parent company
  • Responsible for the production of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, including uploading such information onto the company's accounting systems, within specified deadlines
  • Provide detailed analysis to relevant internal stakeholders of major variances against Budget/Forecast each month
  • Management of the year end audit process, through to preparation of the statutory accounts

Business Partnering
  • Be the financial contact for all areas of the business
  • Ensure that business units understand the financial implications of all key decisions taken
  • Drive value for money throughout the business, by controlling costs
  • Hold cost meetings with budget holders to review spend if necessary

  • Manage the Finance department staff on a daily basis
  • To implement common processes and practices throughout the team and to ensure effective communications are in place
  • To manage, motivate and develop all team members carrying out reviews and appraisals according to the EMEAR policy

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

This role would suit a Finance Manager who is keen to work closely with business leads in a thriving and busy environment:
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Previous experience of managing a busy accounts department
  • First class Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel
  • Previous experience of SAP is highly desirable
  • Previous experience of working within a multinational company, including experience in international transactions and reporting requirements
  • Fluent in English
