The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the RSA Finance Centre of Excellence in Liverpool. The purpose of the Group Financial Reporting Accountant is to work as part of the Group Financial & Regulatory Reporting team responsible for the timely and accurate production of the Group's financial results and regulatory returns. These must be prepared in line with Group policy, professional best practice and relevant legal/regulatory requirements.

As Group Financial Reporting Accountant your main responsibilities will be to:
  • Prepare certain aspects of the Group's quarterly, interim and annual accounts and regulatory returns in line with RSA or external legal/regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
  • Build strong relationships with regional finance teams to support relevant knowledge/skills transfer, information sharing, consistent good practice and joint commitment to the resolution of accounting and regulatory issues.
  • Analyse and interpret financial & business data ensuring accuracy, commerciality and fitness for purpose of the reported numbers.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for process improvements to raise standards and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Conduct complex, in depth financial analysis and reporting to meet internal and external requirements.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of good relations with the external Auditors through the compilation, analysis and presentation of financial information and documentation as required

The Individual

Minimum skills and experience required for this position;
  • Strong technical knowledge & understanding of financial and regulatory reporting standards.
  • Fully qualified accountant (ideally from the Big 4).
  • Proven ability to manage complex financial reporting procedures and consistently achieve accurate, on time delivery within a regulated business.

Based on Old Hall Street in the heart of Liverpool's thriving commercial district you will find the RSA Liverpool office. The site is home to c.1000 RSA colleagues including our Finance Centre of Excellence that boasts 170+ Finance professionals and RSA Motability business which is run in partnership with The Motability charity. We also have teams on site from Personal Lines, HR, Audit, Global Risk Solutions, Claims and our Group Corporate Centre functions. The office has recently been refurbished and boasts a warm and friendly environment. The onsite team are dedicated to putting people at the heart of the business and have an onsite room dedicated to mindfulness.
