Would you like to work in a key role which
contributes to the successful delivery of various programmes whilst utilising
the newest defence technology on the market?
We currently have a vacancy for a Manufacturing Manager at our site in
Rochester.

As a Manufacturing Manager, you will lead a IMT (Integrated Manufacturing Team) throughout the Project's
lifecycle (Development / Production / Support) driving Operational Excellence
throughout.

You will be accountable for all aspects of
manufacturing including performance, people, equipment, environment and safety
and will understand the needs of the Project's both now and in the future and
will plan accordingly to meet these needs.

This newly created role will provide you with
the opportunity to grow within BAE Systems and progress upwards within the
team.

Your main responsibilities as a Manufacturing
Manager will involve:

Overseeing manufacturing performance (OTD,
cost, quality & safety) of a number of Projects

Leading a small team including
recruitment and development of individuals

Providing the Operations labour element of
estimates for the programmes and supporting the associated bid activities

Future planning for programmes for people,
equipment and environment

Driving Quality improvements and Cost Reduction
activities

Communicating performance to relevant
stakeholders

Delivering the Operations strategy for their
business area

Ensuring the team and manufacturing cell is of
the right size and capability to deliver the operations plan reliably and efficiently

Your skills and qualifications as a Manufacturing
Manager:

Essential skills

Previous experience of leading and managing
small teams

Lean manufacturing knowledge

An understanding of MRP systems and associated
tools

Programme management skills

Desirable Skills

Experience of working in a manufacturing
environment would be highly advantageous

Degree or equivalent qualification or
experience in a Manufacturing/Engineering or Business discipline

excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to
influence and maintain excellent business relationships across all levels
within the business.
