Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Facilities)

Role Purpose

To implement corrective & preventive maintenance of all mechanical facilities & civil buildings works on site and to ensure compliance to UK and Boehringer Ingelheim HSE, Bio security, appropriate GMP standards, enabling the reliable and safe operation of the manufacturing facility, including the management of small to larger facility projects and contractors.

  • Effective preventive maintenance of building structures as well as decorations / materials within them to include but not inclusive to domestic and hot water systems.
  • Effective fault-finding and problem solving on mechanical / water systems to minimise business impact.
  • Implement installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical equipment
  • To ensure adherence with all site specific, H&S, Biosafety and GMP procedures
  • To identify and implement improvements in mechanical/facility standards and efficiencies on the site following site procedures
  • To work as part of the maintenance team to maintain the site to a safe and reliable standard, sharing skill and expertise with team members to ensure an efficient and effective maintenance service.

Experience / Qualifications Required
  • Experience managing multiple maintenance issues on a daily basis, requiring the application of expertise and prioritisation based on risk / business impact and understanding of processes
  • Deep knowledge of all mechanical facilities, buildings and civil works on site
  • High level of technical knowledge.
  • Strong awareness of the manufacturing and industrial processes, protocols and ability to carry out risk assessments
