Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (BMS and Controls focus)

Pirbright - GU24 0NQ

Role Purpose

To implement corrective & preventive maintenance of all mechanical/electrical and interrogate controls equipment on site and to ensure compliance to UK and Boehringer Ingelheim HSE, Bio security, appropriate GMP standards, enabling the reliable and safe operation of the manufacturing facility.

  • Implements installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical/electrical and controls equipment
  • Effective preventive maintenance of process/utility equipment and systems that provide essential services for site production.
  • Effective fault-finding and problem solving on mechanical/electrical and controls systems to minimize business impact. This would require interrogating control strategies on BMS, SCADA and standalone systems.
  • To ensure adherence with all BI & site specific, H&S, Biosafety and GMP procedures
  • To identify and implement improvements in mechanical/electrical and controls standards and efficiencies on the site following site procedures
  • To work as part of the maintenance team to maintain the site to a safe and reliable standard, sharing skill and expertise with team members to ensure an efficient and effective maintenance service.

Experience / Qualifications Required
  • Deep knowledge of all mechanical / electrical equipment and a good understanding of control strategy which includes how to read and fault find on PLC equipment, including and not exclusive to Trend, Siemens on site
  • High level of technical knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and industrial processes, protocols and ability to carry out risk assessments
