About This Job:

We are now recruiting two new Hazard Communications Assistants to work in our Global Operations Centre, Manchester. Working within the Global HSE department and reporting to the Hazard Communication Manager, the purpose of the role is to support the Classification and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) team by operating support processes and delivering simple classification and SDS tasks


•Operating under direct supervision, deliver SDS and classification related tasks that support the Classification and SDS team. Typical tasks include, but are not limited to:
•Operate 3rd party SDS process
•Manage team mailboxes, either answering directly or with the assistance of team members
•Produce simple safety data sheets to support shipments of samples
•Producing translations of Syngenta SDSs
•Producing simple changes to existing safety data sheets
•Data management in SAP EHS e.g. externally supplied data and phrases, Syngenta phrases
•Delivering simple SDS and Classification projects that have been defined by team members
•Operate the C&L Inventory notification process

Required profile:

You will have the following experience:

•Experience working in a chemical, technical environment
•Experience with data preparation and analysis
•Sound knowledge of MS Office, experience with SAP EHS useful
•Good communication and networking skills (interactions with various functions, partly remote)
•Passionate and willing for compliance work
•Ability to analyses problems and develop pragmatic solutions
•Motivated to deliver service on time and with appropriate quality level
•Time management skills
•Be a Logical thinker
•Working experience in laboratories, regulatory groups or logistics
•Ability to work to standardized processes

Qualifications / Required Experience

•At least an apprenticeship in science (chemistry, biology, biochemistry, physics) with several years of professional experience in a scientific/technical environment (laboratory technician/chemist) or similar education and experience
•Knowledge of international transportation labelling and classification requirements for hazardous chemicals (land, sea, air) beneficial
•Experience and/or membership in regulatory groups beneficial
•Good knowledge in English (fluent verbal and written).
