Maintenance Engineer

Salary - £38,000 Plus Overtime


Hours of work - 4on 4off 5am-5pm 6am-6pm 10am-10pm rotating

I am currently working with a market leader within the food industry and due to an internal promotion are now in a position to add to their engineering team. If you are an enthusiastic and passionate Mechanical Engineer and looking for a forward thinking company this could be the opportunity you have been looking for. The ideal candidate must have an engineering background ideally within a manufacturing background and the experience of working on high speed lines in a Fast Moving Consumer Goods business. As part of this role you will be required to work 4on 4off 5am-5pm 6am-6pm 10am-10pm rotating.

Purpose of Maintenance Engineer

To effectively perform electrical and mechanical maintenance of all process equipment; actively maintaining our PPM schedule & internal maintenance requests. This role also includes developing continuous improvements, by leading/facilitating these through several department projects to all areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities of Maintenance Engineer

* To carry out the requirements of the planned preventive maintenance programme.

* To ensure production lines are capable of running at maximum efficiency through involvement in continuous improvement processes

* To perform day to day in depth fault finding, diagnosis and breakdown repairs as necessary

* To assist with machine changeovers

* To carry out reactive and planned maintenance duties

* To carry out production line changes

* To carry out maintenance to the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule

* To carry out any associated project work

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge

* Previous experience working in a food/beverage manufacturing environment as a multi skilled engineer is essential.

* Multi skilled in both electrical & mechanical discipline. (The ideal candidate they are looking for has a 50/50 split but they know that is sometimes difficult to find, electrically biased is preferable

* Basic workshop skills.

* Ability to fault find & rectify.

* Ability to read electrical drawings.

* Good communication skills (written & verbal)

* Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards & regulations, IOSH trained desirable but not a necessity.

* 17TH Edition desirable but not a necessity.

* Fabrication skills desirable but not a necessity.

* Experience with industrial microwaves & gas ovens, high voltage is highly advantageous.

* Willingness to train & learn new skills.
