2nd / 3rd Line Support Engineer

Due to an ever-increasing workload, our client is actively seeking a talented and dedicated 2nd / 3rd Line Support Engineer to complement their IT department on a permanent basis.

Reporting directly to the Technical Services Manager, your role will focus around providing 3rd line investigative and remediation activities on the I.T. infrastructure services across a diverse range of businesses.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Create proposals for presentation to board to approve funding for new technologies
  • Be a key technical figure in our cloud first strategy
  • Keep up to date with Technical developments within the industry and making recommendations where appropriate to feed into the long-term IT strategy
  • Lead on new IT product implementation projects (Hardware and Software)
  • Provide the 3rd Line support required to investigate and resolve complex faults & support complex services in accordance to agreed SLA's
  • Contribute to the Infrastructure team activities to reduce IT risk
  • Contribute to the Infrastructure team activities to improve incident/problem relating to Service reliability & performance
  • Provide escalated technical support interface to suppliers, including when we have multi-vendor interoperability issues
  • Ensure that activities and escalation is in line with both customer and service level agreements
  • Participate in out of hours emergency on-call (1 in 7 weeks)
  • Root Cause analysis for complex major incidents & escalated faults

To be considered for this role you must possess:
  • Strong VMware virtualisation skillset including deployment, administration and cloud migration
  • Excellent Microsoft Office 365 and Azure suite capabilities
  • Excellent Microsoft Server and Active Directory capabilities. DHCP, DNS, Group Policy etc
  • Excellent experience with AWS cloud technologies including Design, Implementation and Migration
  • Exposure to cloud services such as ForcePoint, Mimecast etc
  • Full Driving License
