A reputable and world class financial services organisation based in Brighton are seeking an experienced and proven Head of Service Design & Transition.

-As the Head of Service Design & Transition, you will manage a team of 8 (consisting of Demand production, change Lead, enterprise release & service analysis) which will likely expand further, as Group IT Services synergises.
- This role will ensure that demand is fully understood, and resources are in place to meet that demand. The role holder will have a key relationship with IT Operations and proactively ensure changes occur in an orderly way and are accepted by the business.
- Another key component of this role will be supporting the business units through demand management planning that feeds into the capacity management process. They will also have responsibility for ensuring service consumption costs are analysed and allocated correctly.
- The role holder will set the release policy for the organisation for both Pre-production and Production operations. They will ensure that releases are prioritised and scheduled to support new business led demand whilst supporting Group IT in BAU growth needs
- Owns the transition process, develops the organisations approach and defines the Service acceptance criteria for Service Transition. Actively engages with Technical design and project managers to promote awareness and compliance with Service Transition quality plans and processes
- Fully accountable for Change across Group IT, owning the Change Process and for setting the organisation's policy for the management of change in live services and test environments. Ensures effective control and treatment of risk to the availability, performance, security and compliance of the business services impacted
- Responsible for contributing to capacity, availability, problem management, major incident management, change management and knowledge management activities within the team, and undertaking Continual Service Improvements as a day to day activity
- Actively identify risks, ensure they are appropriately logged and tracked at the appropriate forums, and take appropriate action to mitigate or resolve
- Define, develop and deliver processes and systems to ensure a consistent and good level of service that means customers' expectations are met, is consistent with what we have communicated and is aligned to Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly policy
- Continually work to build effective, positive working relationships with both our Third Party Service providers and the wider IT communities, to enable us to deliver a fantastic customer service and be viewed as a single, valued IT partner

- EXPERT knowledge of ITIL - Minimum ITIL Foundation Certificate (ITIL Managers Certificate preferred)
- Knowledge
- IT Infrastructure, including in-depth understanding of associated technologies and architectures.
- Key experience of IT Service Management in an outsourced environment.
- Direct experience of managing the change process at an organisational level.
- Detailed knowledge and environment and release management throughout the SDLC
- Knowledge of in-house & supplier infrastructure, IT strategy and supporting operational processes and practices

- Expertise in IT Operations Management and IT Service Delivery based on industry leading frameworks of ITIL, ideally in an outsourced environment.
- Environment/Release/Change Management strategy development communication and enforcement
- Understanding and implementation of governance within the IT function

* ITIL Change Management Qualified
* PROSCI or similar Change Management qualification
