Penguin Recruitment is working alongside an exciting technology start-up recently acquired by a leading UK energy consultancy. Our client, based in Lutterworth, discover, develop and sell innovating building services and performance measurement technologies. They successfully coordinate a UK based product development, manufacture and assembly supply chain, supplying their technology to energy assessor, surveyors and contractors alike.

Your new role as a product manager will see you reporting directly to the managing director.

The main purpose of this product manager role is to manage new and exciting projects, as well as have to influence existing projects and technologies. The projects you will be managing will be related to measuring air permeability and air leakage.

Some of your new responsibilities as a product manager will include:
  • Oversee and manage the complete product life-cycle for both products - from design, to build and sales, through to warranty and customer support
  • Work with partners, suppliers and the supply chain to ensure dependable and high-quality product supply
  • Work closely with project engineers to release timely product updates and new releases
  • Plan, develop and deliver sales and revenue strategies, comprising product sales, equipment user training and equipment servicing
  • Assess market competition

To be considered for this product manager position, you will ideally:
  • Hold a relevant degree - for example, relating to engineering, manufacturing, mathematical, construction;
  • Have a minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar role
  • Possess a high level of business knowledge and insight
  • Have knowledge of financial forecasting, budget management and product sales
  • Have familiarity with building physics concepts
  • Be able to seek out new sales and product development opportunities
