Job title: 3rd Line IT Engineer

Location: Richmond upon Thames (South West London / Surrey)

Salary: circa£45k

Sector: IT

Working hours: Mon to Fri, 0900 to 1700

Key Duties

This exciting and challenging technical role will be a key position within the team.

-Supporting the IT Infrastructure Manager in all aspects of IT support.

-Surveying and onboarding new customers IT and then consulting on improvements.

-Producing a proposal, plan and then using your technical skills to execute the plan and achieve the objective.

-Leading improvements to the Staxo infrastructure as well as maintain BAU.

-Working with the Dev department to solution Dev/Infra blended issues

-Assist 1st line in providing technical escalation and expertise.Occasionally assisting in overflow tickets.

Key team member requirements:

-Eligible to work and live in the UK

-5 years relevant experience in an IT support function

-A pleasant person that can deal with all types of clients

-Effective verbal and written communication skills with good technical writing abilities

-Target driven with experience of working to hard targets, and being measured on these

-Ability to absorb product knowledge in order to best advises clients on possible solutions

-Used to working in an up to date varied tech environment

-Comfortable presenting to Boards and decision makers

-Exceptional time management and administration skills

-Meticulous, detail and delivery oriented with the formidable command of the English language

-You will have a strong and deep technical background across all Infra responsibilities

-Ability to converse with suppliers to resolve issues and consult on solutions

-Flexibility for occasional out of hours support & monitoring

-Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and people simultaneously

Technical Skills

-ITIL Knowledge

-Expert knowledge of technical 3rd line architecture

-Ticketing system experience and excellent troubleshooting skills

-Ad hoc and planned mentoring of technical colleagues

-Solution design, research and development for internal and client use

-Visio or Lucid charts to produce technical schematics

-Expert knowledge/experience with;

oWinTel environment, Windows Servers & Desktops

oMac Servers & Desktops

oServer roles, example:Active Directory (or AAD), GPO, DHCP, DNS, DFS, Radius


oSwitches (L2, L3), Routers, Firewalls, Load Balancers

oStorage technologies, SAN, NAS, iSCSI

oVirtualisation (VMware / Hyper-V)

oMDM, Intune, WSUS

oBackups (Onsite / Offsite)

oCommand line/power scripting

-Good understanding of;

oVoice networking (VoIP / QoS / NAT / SIP / PBX & Hosted / Polycom /Yealink)

oPublic Cloud & Data centre solutions (G-Suite / Amazon / Azure / 365 / SharePoint)

-Driving licence required (own vehicle not required as company vehicles available).
