The Business:
  • My client is a manufacturer of wire and coatings products and they are immediately seeking an Engineering Manager to work closely with the Operations Manager.
  • You will be working from their busy Engineering facility in West Yorkshire - (Mon - Fri).
  • As a member of the Senior Management Team you will manage the Maintenance Engineering team, ensuring that world class engineering support is given to the whole site on a 24/7 basis.

The Role:
  • You will take responsibility for predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance activities of all machinery and equipment on-site
  • You will work within EHS legislation (e.g. LOLER, PUWER, PAT testing, Electricity @ works regs, COSHH, PTW etc.), proactively contributing to raising standards across Site
  • You will be the only point of contact for all Maintenance issues and control.
  • You will contribute and assist in the management of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), in order to drive a high quality, low cost department.
  • You will manage the allocation of Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedules to Maintenance Engineers and review quality on completion.
  • You will assess Contractor Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) prior to work commencing, ensuring compliance with the authorised contractor list is maintained.
  • You will develop, determine and implement all policies, procedures and training programs for your team.

The Candidate:
  • As the successful candidate you have a proven track record of leading and managing teams and delivery of objectives through performance management and the development of people.
  • You have demonstrable knowledge, and practical experience in motors, inverters, electro-pneumatics, drives/gearboxes, pumps and seals, palletisers, services etc.
  • You can demonstrate evidence of using world class manufacturing techniques such as: 5S, SMED, Root Cause Analysis etc in your previous roles.
  • You are a "time served" engineering apprentice or perhaps have a City and Guilds electrical/mechanical ONC/B-TEC (or equivalent)
  • You are ideally Electrically biased but have experience of working on Mechanical, Pneumatic or Hydraulic systems too.
  • You have demonstrable experience of Repair, Maintenance, Testing and the Installation of equipment
  • You are competent in the use and issuing of 'permit to work' systems and Isolation Procedures ensuring safe systems of work (SSOW) for any maintenance activities.
