Are you a Graduate with a degree in either History, Geography, Religious Studies, Psychology, Sociology or Health and Social Care? Are you hoping to get some solid classroom experience before completing your PGCE?

A large Secondary school in Barking and Dagenham are offering a driven and ambitious Graduate the opportunity to work as a Teaching Assistant before completing a salaried PGCE in the following academic year!

***Competitive pay; £70 - £82 per day
***Position starting September 2019

We want to meet Humanities Teaching Assistants who have considered a career in teaching and are looking to gain some hands-on experience before completing a PGCE. To be considered, you will need to have a humanities degree with a classification of a 2:2 or above. The school want to meet applicants who have strong interpersonal skills and are able to build relationships with pupils and staff quickly. Furthermore, they want to hire a Humanities Teaching Assistant who is passionate about learning and can convey the importance of education to the most challenging and disengaged students.

As a Humanities Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting learning across the humanities department. This will include preparing classroom materials, supporting children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. You will also get some excellent exposure to lesson plans, lesson observations as well as being able to lead sections of the lesson when you feel comfortable. Training will be provided from day one and you will be given ample opportunities to develop your skills and ultimately become a future leading practitioner.
