Academics are working with a purpose built SEN School in Lincoln to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant due to an increase in student numbers. If you are an enthusiastic person wanting to work as an SEN Teaching Assistant and have a background of supporting students with disabilities we would urge you to apply. All levels and experience will be considered providing you have had some recent experience working with children with SEN either as a paid or voluntary role.

The role has become available due to the school receiving more admissions from students with EHCP and provides state of the art care and education to some of the most vulnerable of children. As part of your role you will be expected to be proactive and enthusiastic in your approach to getting the students involved in tasks and help them develop life skills from an early age.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will need to have some experience of working with with Children with SEN. Working in a school of this nature requires an individual who is not easily fazed and can find the positives in every situation along with being flexible in their approach as situations can change very quickly and the school day make up can be changed at short notice.

The role of SEN Teaching Assistant in this purpose built Lincoln based SEN School may require support of students with a range of disabilities and additional needs such as:
  • Communication and Interaction Needs
  • Cognitive and Learning Disabilities
  • Sensory and Physical Needs
  • Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs
