About the role:
  • We are seeking a workshop CAD Technician to produce detailed 2D drawings for the manufacture of ultra high-end bespoke furniture.
  • You will take hand drawn concept drawings and renders and use them to draught manufacturing drawings for our team of makers to work from.
  • The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in a workshop environment and / or dealing directly with bespoke furniture manufacturers.
  • They will have knowledge and experience of designing products made from solid wood, veneers, metal and glass, and understand jointing and finishing techniques.
  • They will also have a positive and adaptable approach to their work that reflects the diversity and unique nature of each project

Job Description:
  • To draught 2D CAD drawings for the workshop to use to manufacture furniture.
  • To make site surveys when needed and liaise with clients.
  • To specify and manage the ordering of hardware and furniture fittings
  • To manage and maintain the drawing and project folders
  • Working with the owner to realise his design concepts into manufacturing drawings
  • To work closely with makers, briefing on projects and resolving any issues that may arise with a can-do attitude.

Key Skills / Experience Required:
  • Experienced on AUTOCAD.
  • A thorough understanding of timber types, properties and jointing techniques.
  • Be a team player and great problem solver.
  • Methodical, structured and self-motivated person with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • A calm approach to tasks with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Have a high level of computer literacy, and quick to learn new software.
  • Excellent communication skills and client facing presentation.
  • Enthusiasm, energy and a 'can do' attitude, good at taking direction.
  • Driver's license.

Salary / Benefits Information:

£28,000 - £34,000
