You will need to have a confident and resilient personality. You will need to have a passion for Science and feel excited about the prospect of projecting that same passion onto others. You will have the desire to explore teaching and what is really means to be a good teacher who has a positive impact on a student's education.

During your time as a Science Teaching Assistant, you will get the chance to work with students on a 1:1 basis but also in small intervention groups, developing and delivering fun and interactive sessions that are based on areas of the national curriculum. You will broaden your understanding of the school system and learn about behaviour management and the different ways in which Science is taught.

You will also be required to be adaptable and provide effective Cover across other subject areas across the school in a Cover Supervisor type role. Full training will be provided beforehand.

The school are looking to meet with Science Graduates who can start this role from September 2019 and are excited to introduce you to their school. Opportunities to join the school in May/June/July are possible for final year students who will shortly be completing their degree studies.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to shape the lives of young people in Bury St Edmunds. If you think you can help transform the opportunities for the community this secondary school serves, then we would like to hear from you for this Science Teaching Assistant position.
