Manufacturing Engineer

Job Location: Dorchester, Dorset

Job Type: Temporary -Permanent

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum

Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm with an earlier finish on a Friday

We are working with a privately owned and growing Electronics Manufacturer are currently looking to recruit for a Manufacturing Engineer to work within a small, hardworking and busy team based at their site in Dorchester.

Within this role you will be required to:
  • Evaluate new builds ensuring processes are in place for manufacture
  • Translate customer information into PTE Manufacturing information
  • Create and implement new processes to aid manufacture
  • Challenge and improve existing processes to aid manufacture
  • Support the provision of new (or upgrade of) tooling, machines and equipment to complete the operation
  • Coordinate with production, engineering and quality assurance departments to establish / implement containment and route cause fixes to manufacturing issues
  • Implementing best practice standard work on shop floor to improve safety and quality and maximise efficiency
  • Provide production support to production departments
  • To advise on the feasibility of new business, prior to taking on work - dealing with people at the front end of our business

We would like our ideal candidates to possess:
  • Knowledge of the Electronics industry essential.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the electronics industry essential.
  • A technical degree in an appropriate manufacturing engineering related field (or equivalent) is desirable, but not essential.
  • Previous experience in leading the implementation of New Product Introduction and Advance Product Quality Planning
  • Safety / Ergonomic Qualifications are desirable, but not essential.
  • Trained to IPC610 / 620 desirable, but not essential.
  • Good understanding of documents used within the Electronics industry. (Assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, gerber data, bill of materials, schematics etc.)
  • To be capable of reading wiring diagrams and engineering drawings, as well as instructing others.
  • A thorough understanding of how to drive process improvement.
  • A good understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment on the market.
  • The ability to multitask while remaining highly organised.
  • Excellent communication skills.
