Change / Release and Service Transition Manager

Bedford, Bedfordshire

circa £60k plus bonus plus bens

A Change / Release and Service Transition Manager is required by a global insurance company to champion change processes across the organisation. This is a pivotal, rapidly evolving role ideally suited to someone with several years working in a similar capacity within a fast-paced environment. This role will see you responsible for the development and management of delivering the Transition Approach enabling implementation, including dependencies across technical, data migration and business change work-streams to meet required cut over acceptance criteria.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the change and release processes and procedures to authorise changes and minimise downtime of critical systems and infrastructure
  • Chair CAB and ECAB.
  • Create, own and ensure the maintenance of any associated release or change documentation and process, including negotiating agreement for these with senior business representatives
  • Create, maintain and publish the master change/release schedule
  • Ensure the appropriate governance is in place to provide successful delivery of all changes and releases
  • Engage in continuous service improvement initiatives in order to deliver a more effective, efficient, and consistent service to the business
  • Implement KPI metrics for measuring overall and individual success rates, and provide reports based on output
  • Provide clear visibility of planned future releases, ensuring appropriate knowledge and awareness across IT and the business of the impact of each release
  • Partake in Project/Change governance meetings and forums with the aim of providing an early steer in change and release management as required
  • Create detailed SMART objectives, ensuring that the appropriate measures are in place and that this aligns with the Organisation's vision


Service Transition Management:

  • Development of Service Design and Transition documentation and management of the end-to-end delivery of service management activities
  • Make sure the appropriate documentation is in-place to support the project process to capture budget implications following project/service go-live/transition to BAU (therefore feeding-in to the annual budget cycle)


Key Requirements:

  • Significant experience in Change, Release, and Service Transition Management
  • Experience in planning and successfully driving delivery of concurrent complex cross-business change projects
  • Experience of supporting the commercial and procurement teams in service contract renewals, changes, extensions and / or new requirements is desirable
  • ITIL and Service Management experience in the implementation of a service design for enterprise solutions, applying ITIL processes when transitioning to a range of service groups and / or new capabilities
