EJ402 - HSEQ Manager / Compliance Manager

Location: Bordon, Hampshire

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Overview:

Our client is looking for an experienced HSE/QA Manager / Compliance Manager to join their business. Reporting to the Directors, you will be responsible for providing HSE/QA support and advice across the business. You should be fully conversant with ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001 auditing standards and have demonstrable experience in an HSE role.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible to the directors, for ensuring compliance with the organisations Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) management systems so they remain effective, monitored and reviewed in line with current legislation and complaint with ISO 9001,14001 and OHSAS 18001/ ISO 45001 Standards;
  • Support the company DPA's in managing the vessels management systems in accordance with the International Safety Management Code (ISM Code 2018 Edition);
  • Maintaining and managing the ISO Standards and ensuring the annual verification and certification is undertaken in line with corporate requirements;
  • Act as the competent person for HSEQ matters and the implementation, review and monitoring of existing HSEQ policies, procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work;
  • Ensure all accidents and incidents are investigated, Key Performance Indicators overseen, and controls are implemented to prevent reoccurrence or enhance continual improvement;
  • Managing the operational HSEQ for the business;
  • Produce HSEQ documentation, risk assessments for office, site and project safety files;
  • Delivery of training and advisory sessions to personnel and contractors when required;
  • Carry out office inductions for new employees;
  • Assist with the preparation with HSE documentation for inclusion in PQQ's and Tenders;
  • Undertake, implement, monitor and review Fire arrangements including the Fire Risk Assessment;
  • Organise HSEQ Review meetings. (This is to include pre-site safety meetings, onsite meetings at the beginning of major projects and management reviews);
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers and contractors on HSE and Quality matters;
  • Advise managers and assist with the development of safe systems of work for all company activities and provide guidance on the implementation;
  • Manage and coordinate method statements and safe systems of work for projects as required;
  • Undertaking any other duties as appropriate within your competence

Skills and Qualifications:
  • NEBOSH Certificate or similar qualifications;
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working with ISO management systems or compliance role;
  • Well organised and self-motivated, ability to work within high pressure situations and to tight delivery deadlines;
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint;
  • Ability to ensure consistent in-house document style/format is maintained
  • Training in system Auditing
  • Maritime knowledge/background would be advantageous
