Due to continuous growth, a well-established manufacturer of automotive components is recruiting for an Applications Engineer.

Key tasks:

• Communicating with customers and translating technical requirements into selection of units by undertaking full calculations to meet the required specifications.

• Estimating costs for new assembly proposals through good understanding of key suppliers and the manufacturing costing system

• Prepare quotations for presentation to customer whilst maintaining accepted levels of profitability.

• Maintain department performance statistics and deliver to agreed targets.

• Liaising with the customers and the design team to manage the flow of information to ensure that the product fully meets the customer requirements. Track the progress of designs to ensure timely completion.

• Collaborate with other departments as necessary e.g. production, operations and quality to ensure high level of customer service.

• Co-ordinate the submission of assembly drawings for customer approval and manage final submission of certified drawings and special documentation to customers' requirements.

• Provide on-site support for all products worldwide. For example, maintenance, trouble shooting and commissioning of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

• Provide technical support to sales team, distributors and customers.

• Create Instruction and Maintenance Manuals for products using Microsoft packages.

• To carry out project work at the request of the Applications Manager.

Please note that all applicants must have continuous 5 years' working history.

We are looking for someone who has experience in a similar role and can work efficiently to tight deadlines. Must have good attention to details and ability to prioritise workload. HNC in Mechanical Engineering is essential, HND in Mechanical Engineering is desirable.
