My customer is currently looking to engage with an Infrastructure Team Lead to be responsible for the delivery and management of a reliable infrastructure for all voice and data services within the organisation and to ensure that service levels for performance, availability and support are achieved through the internal IT infrastructure team or external service providers.

Key responsibilities

·To develop, manage and support the infrastructure (voice and data) connecting remote offices, users and home-based staff to business systems or services

·To manage the network perimeter to ensure that the environment is securely protected and patched, ensuring that a security policy is documented and updated, and that regular reviews are undertaken to identify security risks

·To maintain, develop and contribute to security standards and controls. This includes implementation of processes, procedures and guidelines in accordance with policies and current legislation, management of user access, and reporting/escalation of security breaches or near-misses

·To manage the infrastructure security, including physical access to infrastructure, remote access, network and telecoms security, file servers, data backups and ensure the secure return or disposal of equipment containing data

·To manage partnerships with external suppliers for infrastructure and telecoms services including, support services, change management, consultation services and the production and distribution of regular reports against KPI's and costs

·To monitor the performance of the infrastructure, ensuring that it is optimised and that future capacity planning in undertaken

·To maintain comprehensive records and documentation for the configuration of the infrastructure and telecoms

·To implement best practice change control, ensuring that all changes are formally approved through the change control procedures, and implemented in a controlled way with appropriate levels of communication

·To manage the implementation, operation and maintenance of the Information

·Security Management System based on ISO 27000 series & NHS IG Toolkit standards, including certification where appropriate

·To maintain and implement effective infrastructure and telecom policies, standards, procedures and guidelines

·To manage activity to support business continuity plan(s) and related provision of

·ICT disaster recovery services

·To research and recommend changes to the infrastructure and telecoms architecture, ensuring that all new and enhanced facilities are effectively project managed and thoroughly tested, before being implemented in the production environment

·To manage the strategic development of the infrastructure and telecoms, providing the technical input to strategic application systems and any development or transformation projects

Essential requirements

·To have professional qualifications e.g. ITIL, Prince 2, CCNP, CCDP, MCSE, CISSP or CISM.

·To have extensive experience in a Microsoft networked environment and have experience of managing WAN and PBX/VOIP technologies.

·To have experience of establishing, monitoring and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures .

·To have experience of liaising with external suppliers or subject matter experts. To have experience of managing processes and influencing effectively.

·To have understanding and appreciation of current, new and emerging technologies.

·To have experience of supervising staff and have good interpersonal and team leadership skills.

·To be able to work collaboratively, with a range of colleagues both in the wider organisation, and with external stakeholders.
