Group Accountant - Newly Qual ACA - FTSE 250 PLC - Manchester - Up to £45,000

Your new company
A Manchester based FTSE 250 PLC is looking to expand their finance team following a period of rapid growth. Specialising in the manufacturing sector, this business is market leader with a good reputation for attracting and maintaining top talent. The ideal candidate will come into the business as a Group Accountant position, and then look to progress quickly through the ranks, working incredibly closely with the Group Financial Controller.

Your new role
This Group Accountant will be an integral part of the business, and the responsibilities include:
  • Presenting the accounts to senior stakeholders, providing insightful and commercial reports to the
  • Group Financial Controller and the Group Financial Director Management, review and control of all costs, providing financial business partnering, support and guidance to departmental heads
  • Preparation of month end processing and review of results for central group entities, including forecasts.
  • Month end close process includes journal processing, accruals and prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations Budgets - lead the budget process across all business units establishing strong reporting procedures and accurate management information
  • Preparation of all UK VAT, Intrastat, EC sales list returns Management of Capex process and reporting

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be ACA qualified from a Big 4 or Top 10 accountancy practice. You will need to have excellent communication skills with a proven ability to converse with peers and senior leaders. You will also need to have sound understanding of financial reporting with up to date with current reporting standards.
