Becoming a Finance Business Partner with Capita Central Government Services

Capita plc is the UK's leading provider of business process management and integrated professional support service solutions, with over 60,000 staff across the UK, Europe, South Africa and India.

The role will be responsible for providing finance support to the Project Delivery and Client Services teams within Service Birmingham & the Joint Venture for Entrust and the Staffordshire city council. These functions cover over 100 live IT related projects at any one time to around 462 schools in Birmingham, 363 in Staffordshire & 220 in West Sussex.

The role will be based 5 days a week in Fort Dunlop, Birmingham

What you will do:
  • Supporting the wider Finance team with the month end close and associated reporting, with a specific focus in the projects field
  • Business Partnering with Project Managers to derive accurate project forecasts
  • Supporting the sales function to drive the business and provide timely reporting on sales & conversion of wins to the P&L
  • Balance sheet reconciliations with specific emphasis on working capital management
  • Report by exception on opportunities by project life
  • Project invoicing and validation
  • Support the finance function to ensure timely collection of cash receipts
  • Support with ad hoc requests from Capita Group
  • Fixed Income & Provision analysis
  • Delivering the Entrust billing process on the month to month basis to invoice the correct SLA amount for Learning technologies supplied to Staffordshire Academies and Maintained Schools
  • To analyse and post intercompany journals to the correct cost centres
  • Responding to Accounts receivable queries for Learning Technologies within a 48-hour turnover period
  • Validating Purchase orders against information on SAP - flagging any with missing information
  • Ad hoc analysis of business/operational areas to create efficiencies and to report to senior management
  • Facilitate in the Business Planning Process
  • Spot checks and completing reconciliations between CRM systems such as Service now & SLA Online

Your experience will include:
  • Part Qualified Account - CIMA/ACCA or related degree
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • SAP experience beneficial
  • Project Accounting experience beneficial
  • Strong analysis skills & commercial acumen
  • Strong interpersonal & business partnering skills. Able to deal with a range of people across the organisation
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to be flexible, and to create the functionality to amend reporting at short notice to cater for the fast paced environment
  • Able to use initiative (and advice of others) to identify new solutions
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively - both written and orally.
