Job Description:
Delivery Manager Within Hiscox our Delivery Managers sit within the IT Services team, reporting to the Business Services Leader. IT Services provides EUC, Communications, Data, Networking and Infrastructure solutions and services for Hiscox globallyThe focus of this role is to manage a local team of Infrastructure Specialists, taking responsibility for delivering IT change and maintaining IT operations across our organisation. You will be a technical individual with a good understanding of overall IT infrastructure support and have proven and existent people management skillsWithin this role you will take responsibility for line and performance management of the local delivery squad, scrum master and other technology professionals, developing skills and cross-pollinating ability to ensure that we drive forwards staff development with appropriate "on the job", technical, professional and soft skill training.You will have proof of managing stakeholder expectations, delivery of services and vendor relationship management as well as supporting sponsorship of projects with appropriate on-budget and on-time delivery principles.Key responsibilities within this role will also include:Build a whole-team identity where squad members trust and support each other; developing, supporting and embedding a culture of continuous service improvement, innovation and automation.Work with the Business Services and Operations Leadership to ensure effective resource management across our multiple delivery squadsWork with other Delivery Manager's to cross-pollinate ideas, drive service improvement and best practice with the aim of gaining alignment and increasing performance across squads.Understand the priorities, road-maps, vision and challenges of affiliated Business Units. Work with Portfolio and Project Managers to ensure our delivery capability, approach and priorities are aligned with Hiscox business objectives.Accountable for the efficient delivery of projects, products and services (Quality, Efficiency, Timeliness and Value) by your squad. At any one time squads may be working on up to 100 different projects or initiatives.Own and prioritise the product backlog for your squad; managing your team to ensure effective delivery in-line with your commitments to stakeholdersEnforce best practice across your team, IT Services and the wider organisationAccountable for producing KPIs and communications to the wider IT team on the service and value that your squad are deliveringIdentify and escalate risks/impediments to Business Services / Operations Leaders as appropriatePerson SpecificationStrong interpersonal skills with previous experience of mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building.Line Management experience or experience of leading Virtual and/or Multinational / Multifunctional TeamsStrong analytical, planning, and organisational skills with an ability to manage competing demandsHave the ability to confidently interact with both business and IT individuals at all levels including senior and executive managementStrong stakeholder management with knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidenceHave practical experience of planning and resource scheduling within an operational environmentCreative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the "big picture" viewBe highly results driven, with the energy and determination to succeed in a very fast paced environment where the pace of response and leadership is critical to successBe creative, proactive, logical and innovative and will not just accept the status quoPossess strong relationship management and influencing skills.Have personal drive, energy and commitmentThrives in a dynamic environment where not everything is defined and change is a constantDiversity and flexible working at HiscoxAt Hiscox we care about our people.
