At our Plymouth site, we design and manufacture products for control, navigation and guidance for surface and air applications in the global aerospace and defence markets. Our world leading products include the innovative MEMS based Inertial Measurement Units (IMU) and the digital terrain reference navigation system, TERPROMĀ®.A new vacancy has arisen for a contracts/commercial officer primarily within our Joint Venture company Silicon Sensing Systems Limited. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining and managing relationships with assignedinternal and external customers. You will participate in and contribute to aspects of the commercial activities of the business to facilitate maximising business success and support and develop relationships with existing and potential customers, to ensure the effective management of agreements and contracts through the contract life cycle.Key responsibilities:* Managing assigned contracts, including negotiation of amendments and internal Order Book Management through an ERP System * Effective resolution of commercial issues, both internally and with customers* Maintaining and managing customer relationships to ensure effective management of business agreements and contracts from inception to completion* Support the development of the pricing policies to ensure a sound commercial basis is maintained * Preparation and provision of quotations and quotation pricing information both internally and externally* Providing advice and guidance on related commercial issues* Identifying risks in relation to assigned contracts / business arrangements* Proposing responses in line with policies for managing Commercial risk* Contributing to developing, implementing and maintaining commercial procedures and policies, to support improved business effectiveness* Knowledge and awareness of UK and Japanese Export Regulations (preferable but not essential) * Participate and contribute to the Company's Continuous Improvement ProgrammesThe ideal candidate will have legal and / or contractual knowledge, preferably demonstrated through a formal qualification, have 5 years' experience in an Aerospace/Defence and/or commercial company in a Commercial/Contracts environment and have held a role where accuracy and attention to detail can be demonstrated. This is a full time position.
