Manufacturing Engineering Leader

A leading provider of specialist light-emitting systems used within laboratories, due to ongoing growth are now looking for an experienced Senior or Lead Manufacturing Engineer or Manufacturing Team Leader who is now looking for their first opportunity to step into management, is passionate about looking to champion lean from scratch for the first time within a business that is evolving from a small to medium volume manufacturer based in Andover, Hampshire.

Reporting into the Operations Director, the successful individual will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership skills and to guide, mentor and empower a small production engineering function in the design and development of automated manufacturing and test systems for new and existing products, including new manufacturing cells, managing all NPI activities, implementing engineering changes and daily support to production applying Lean processes such as VSM, Kanban and 5's to support the business growth plans.

The successful individual is likely to be a time served Engineer and be qualified to HNC, HND or Degree standard within Mechanical, Electrical, Production or Manufacturing Engineering; can demonstrate a proven track record of working within a production or manufacturing engineering capacity within a small to medium volume electrical or mechanical manufacturing environment and have previous experience in the implementation of Lean manufacturing methodologies / processes such as Kaizen, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, line balancing and Six Sigma.

Individuals who are certified to green or black belt within Six Sigma would be of distinct interest to our client, though not essential.

This position is offering a salary in the region of £45,000 - £50,000 together with endless associated benefits including 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, company bonus scheme, share incentive plan,
