Contract Type
Full Time
Tradewind is working with a "Good" rated secondary comprehensive in East Herts, seeking a Maths teacher to begin in September and continue for the course of the school year, with a permanent contract likely to follow. This school is over-subscribed with an excellent reputation in the local community, and was praised in their recent Ofsted report for high standards of behaviour and attitude to learning among the student body, as well as a strong focus on learning support and high aspirations for all pupils

The school is seeking either an experienced teacher or NQT who:

• can teach Maths at GCSE and A-Level

• is confident and familiar with the GCSE Maths curriculum and will be able to provide targeted teaching for all ability levels, including intervention groups

• is keen to contribute to the school's extracurricular provision such as interventions, house competitions and STEM clubs

• can work as part of a team in a supportive, high-achieving department

This role would ideally be on a full-time basis five days a week, although part time may be possible due to flexibility in the department. The ideal candidate would be an engaging, innovative teacher who can motivate bright and energetic students at all age groups. The school offers an excellent standard of training and mentoring and employs several NQTs every year, so applications from NQTs are also welcome.

This school prides itself on its high expectations for all students, and uses a House system and regular reward trips to motivate its pupils. The Maths department is large, close-knit, and very well supported by the SLT as a core subject. The Head of Department is well-established at the school and prioritises good relationships within his department, always having his door open for any questions or support needs.

The school site is modern and well-equipped, with particularly generous facilities for sports, music and DT. It is located close to the M25 with easy access via car and bus from Cheshunt, Potters Bar and Enfield.

In order to be considered for this Maths position you will need:

• QTS status or equivalent (overseas teachers will be considered with appropriate NARIC certification)

• Enhanced DBS or Overseas Police Checks if necessary

• An updated CV, covering the last 10 years of employment, with 2 recent references

• A legal right to work in the UK (We are not able to offer sponsorship for this role)
