I am currently recruiting for a Team Leader, for my client based in Coventry for their CNC Machine shop due to recent changes.

The successful candidate shall have previous experience working in an engineering environment, as a team leader or supervisor. Ideally you will have worked in a CNC machine shop or CNC Machining role to understand the nature of the tasks. Any hands-on CNC programming, setting or operating (milling or lathes) would also be beneficial.

The role shall include the following:

* Responsible for the day to day safe and efficient running of the soft state section

* Ensure production operatives have work that has been planned as required by means of work to lists and schedules, to meet Sales, Service and Stock Reorder levels

* Working with the Manufacturing Manager ensure the correctly experienced and qualified production operatives are recruited to strengthen the team as necessary within the company strategy

* Ensure production operatives have all the required documentation, tools and any other requirements to complete the tasks or jobs given to them, to the correct quality standards

* To be the first point of contact for all production operatives within the section, for any problems identified during the manufacturing and where necessary escalating and involving staff from other departments ensuring the finished product conforms to expectations

* Working with the Manufacturing Manager, highlight and implement any training needs to ensure production capacity needs are met and to maintain, the production operative's skill matrix

* Review regularly the requirement for release of sub-contract machining thus deemed either not suitable for the current machine resources or in overload conditions to create capacity, such decisions should be supported by relevant documentation and instructions to the supplier

* Working with the Manufacturing Manager maintain daily attendance and sickness records to be controlled in line the company policies for cover to be in place for specific processes at all times

* Working with the Manufacturing Manager ensure preventative maintenance planning for the section especially on key machine tools to ensure the smooth progression of projects through the workshop.

* Responsible for the quality of the work carried out within the section and performs random incoming and outgoing inspection on parts to ensure standards are maintained

* Highlight immediately, any issues, that might affect the timely build of finished goods, service or Stock Reorder level products, to the appropriate departments

* As part of the role the workshop manager may be required to undertake manufacturing tasks as deemed necessary to assist the through put of work through the section
