We are looking for a talented, motivated and ambitious Electrical and Electronics Design Engineer with 2-5 years' experience to join a growing Product Engineering Team within a company based just outside Royston. You will be part of a team developing next generation digital printing products which include Electronics (Circuit and PCB design)%3B Electrical (Electrical/electromechanical system design and validation)%3B and machine control Software (PLC) development.

This will appeal to an Engineer with interests spanning a broad range of electronics, control, electrical and electromechanical systems, who is excited by the idea of designing complete systems from scratch and who is keen to work on complex machines.

* First or Upper-second Class Degree in a relevant discipline from a top engineering university
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in a hands-on electronics and/or electrical design role in a product-development focussed organisation
* Circuit and PCB design for Analog/Digital circuits, switch-mode supplies (AC / DC), FPGAs, microcontrollers and digital communication interfaces (USB / Ethernet etc.), experience with Altium Designer preferred
* Panel design for small to medium size electrical and control panels encompassing PLCs, motor drives, circuit protection, safety relay systems etc. (Proficiency with Solidworks Electrical and Solidworks 3D preferred)
* Knowledge of product and machinery regulatory approvals, standards and compliance testing (CE / UL508A / IEC 60950 etc.)
*Demonstrable hands-on fault-finding experience and debugging skills for PCBs, electromechanical machines and systems

The following would be a distinct advantage:

* Experience designing and commissioning complete electrical and control systems for complex electromechanical machinery, systems and test-rigs
* PLC and HMI programming for Allen Bradley PLC
* Experience in print industry preferred
* Experience of designing safety systems for industrial machinery
