Summary of the Role:

To manage the financial aspects of the operations of Wiltshire and Swindon Sport CIC.

Key Responsibilities:

* To process invoices for payment and raise invoices, from debtors in accordance with finance policy, procedures and appropriate timescales.

* To ensure all travel and expenses claims and timesheets for staff are submitted in line with HR policy in readiness for payment.

* To ensure that financial regulations and HR and finance policies are followed by all team members.

* To provide HR and Payroll support to the team, acting as a liaison between employees and HR and Payroll services.

* To periodically review and adapt policies, procedures and systems relating to financial areas including income and expenditure, payment of invoices, recording of travel and expenses, budgeting and reporting etc. to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

* To procure and manage stocks of stationary and other equipment to ensure the efficient and effective running of the office and team.

* To provide selective administrative and secretarial support to the team where required.

* To provide detailed financial reports to the executive board and SMT in line with requirements and in a timely manner.

* To analyse financial performance of the organisation and highlight issues of concern to the SMT.

* To effectively manage the financial relationship with funding partners, including funding claims, the evidencing of spend and meeting reporting requirements.

* To assist in the preparation and review of project and operational budgets.

* To work with accountants to prepare financial statements required by company law.

* To provide information regarding the financial performance of the organisation against budgets and operational performance.

Person Specification


* Good general standard of education to GCSE or equivalent

* Excellent working knowledge of Office productivity software including spreadsheets and databases.

* Financial management qualifications

* Solid understanding and working knowledge of accounting and financial processes and standards

* Proven experience in accounting, finance and working in a busy office;

* Experience of managing finances in a not-for-profit / community interest / charity context;

* Experience of using Sage accounting software packages.

* IT literate and a knowledge of the benefits that IT can bring to enhance planning, evaluation, management and communications
