Salary: based upon experience
Payroll Job Purpose:
Processes an organisation's payroll in a timely and accurate manner. Creates and maintains employees payroll records. Calculations wages and applicable deductions based on employee attendance and time sheet records. Enters payroll information into central system for processing. Issues employees checks and earnings summaries. Completes payroll reports.
Payroll Job Duties:
  • Processes employee payroll for a selected part of the company
  • Maintains payroll processing system
  • Entering new records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data
  • Computes employee take-home pay based on time records, benefits, and taxes
  • understanding of Statutory deductions - SSP, SMP, SPP etc.
  • Answers staff questions and queries about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records
  • Receives and coordinates requests for leave and other absences
  • Adheres to payroll policies and procedures and complies with relevant law and legislation
  • Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in time sheet and payroll records
  • Honours confidentiality of employee's pay records
  • Completes payroll reports for record-keeping purposes or managerial review
  • Determines organisation's tax obligations by calculating national and council taxes as well as National Insurance contributions
