Inheritance Tax Manager:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accountant to join our client's firm as an IHT Manager.

Based in the heart of East Sussex, our client is a well-established private practice providing a wide range of expert accountancy needs. Our client's number one objective is to understand their client's business, this is to achieve success and to overcome any hurdles they may face whilst working alongside them.

Opportunity

You will have the opportunity to:
  • Grow and develop the Inheritance Tax department by having free reign to make it your own.
  • Focus on business development in order to promote opportunities to get new clients on board.
  • Work alongside dedicated accountants who are passionate on delivering successful results.

Work

The role will include working with a wide range of clients. With emphasis on providing specialist advice on private client matters which will involve working on a range of trusts, IHT/estate planning, and wills and probate.

Responsibilities include:
  • Demonstrating thorough technical knowledge in specialist areas, particularly area of IHT.
  • Clearly identifying any other service needs of clients and potential cross-selling opportunities.
  • Remaining up to date about legislative, technical, & regulatory changes and share knowledge with your team.
  • Assisting in the development of trainees by providing coaching, continual support, & constructive feedback as appropriate.

You will also be expected to maintain and add value to existing relationships with clients and aid in the developing of new relationships with third party referrers and their clients.

Experience required
  • Qualified Accountant with practice experience.
  • Previous experience of IHT with a proficient level of technical knowledge.
  • STEP Qualified.
  • Previous experience on issues which affect the sector would be advantageous.
  • Must possess full driving license.

In addition to the above you should have the ability to communicate & engage with in a professional manner. You should be accurate and have good attention to detail. It is important to demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills when working closely with your clients.
