Our Audit team in Bedford is looking for a proactive, relationship focused and competent Accounts and Audit Senior to join the team.

You will take responsibility for completing accounts preparations, audit work and production of corporate tax computations, ensuring deadlines are met and compliance with necessary regulations. You will be accountable for completing the job as far as possible before passing to the manager for review and sign off. There is a clear path for progression in the role for an ambitious candidate and lots of 'in role' development opportunities too!

The successful applicant will have good knowledge of external audit, from a practice background.

Our Bedford teams are friendly and dynamic, everyone is approachable and ready to support each other. They work closely with the Peterborough office creating the 'Eastern Region' which encompasses Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. Increasingly they are getting involved with cross office projects, ensuring that our staff members get to experience a variety of industries and business while appreciating a regular flow of new clients.

Qualifications and Skills
ACA or ACCA, part or fully qualified with practice experience
Excellent accounts preparation and problem solving skills
Competent planning and completion skills
Computer experience to include; Excel, Word, Outlook. Ideally CaseWare and alphatax, Sage, Xero QBO or other bookkeeping software
Previous experience of leading junior members of staff
Good up to date technical knowledge including recent developments in accounting standards
Communication: oral and written, ability to deal with variety of people in different environments
Organised: ability to deal with a variety of tasks
Client focused and commercially aware
Team building and problem solving skills
Ability to work well under pressure and manage deadlines
Be positive and committed to MHA MacIntyre Hudson in dealings with both clients and staff
