MSDUK is the UK's leading non-profit membership organisation driving inclusive procurement. To deliver an ambitious growth plan we are recruiting a Marketing & Events Assistant to lead our marketing and media activities and support the delivery of world class events and conferences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a marketing strategy to meet MSDUK objectives
  • Coordinate all MSDUK's marketing / digital marketing activities
  • Be familiar with and be up to date with all social media platforms, word-press and MailChimp and photoshop in order to use them everyday
  • Create and manage engaging content on all social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram on a daily basis.
  • Take ownership of the website, maintaining, updating and creating new content / articles
  • Create marketing collaterals with help from brand agency and to deliver MSDUK messaging and drive brand awareness
  • Develop marketing campaigns to drive participation in MSDUK events
  • Design and produce e-flyers, members monthly e-newsletters and communications using Mailchimp
  • Provide required reporting on MSDUK's marketing activities to the CEO, Board, Committees and Senior Leadership Team.

  • Support the event manager with delegate management for large-scale events
  • Develop and deliver marketing collaterals for all our events and conferences
  • Work with the Events manager to coordinate event attendance and sponsorship
  • Assist in develop event strategy to deliver series of MSDUK events including the annual Conference
  • Work collaboratively with the team to deliver effective marketing campaign for all events

Specialist Knowledge and Attributes:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of ethnic minority communities, cultures and issues affecting ethnic minorities in business
  • Demonstrated expertise in written (e.g. letters, reports, emails), spoken (e.g. speeches, media soundbites) and conceptual (e.g. infographics, animation, video) communication
  • Demonstrated knowledge in delivering marketing across digital channels: MailChimp (or similar); Twitter; Facebook; LinkedIn via HootSuite (or similar)
  • Analysis of results (google analytics, eDM open / click rates etc)
  • Website CMS systems
  • Enthusiasm for working with a small team to deliver successful event outcomes

General Skills / Qualifications
  • Marketing/PR/Events related degree preferred (or equivalent)
  • Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills to deliver outcomes on time
  • Demonstrated superior written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of competence in using IT applications e.g. Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, CRM
  • To work with the highest level of accuracy and attention to detail at all times
