A Retail Marketing Executive is required by a major retailer based in Leeds. This varied marketing role provides a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving team. My client requires a highly motivated and proactive self starter who can manage marketing activity plans and numerous campaigns concurrently.

This person will interact with many people in the business from trading and marketing ops, to external agencies and suppliers. They need to be a confident and a skilled people individual, with the ability to be assertive and challenging when required.

The role entails:

- Working closely with the trading team, brand product team, suppliers and merchandisers to deliver customer focused category initiatives.

- Supporting the Category Planning Manager with developing the category strategy to deliver growth for your areas.

- Working alongside trading teams to develop and deliver Joint Marketing plans with key suppliers.

- On-going provision of customer and market insight to understand our customer and maintain competitive advantage.

- Liaising with corporate marketing teams to deliver the activity plan.

- Managing category events and creating a strong marketing execution plan with external agencies and corporate marketing.

- Supporting and delivering internal events and category conferences.

- Working closely with corporate marketing and digital trading teams to deliver right first time marketing, media and in store POS to support category activity.

Candidate requirements:

- Marketing background, ideally with account or project management experience

- Passionate about retail with a customer focussed approach

- Excellent communication and presentation skills

- Ability to build strong relationships around the business and with suppliers

- Ability to work cross functionally and communicate well at all levels

- Proficient with Microsoft office, including Excel and PowerPoint

- Highly organised and deadline driven

- Strong attention to detail

- Work independently and part of team with the ability to challenge colleagues when required

- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data

- Experience of budget management

- Commercial acumen
