Are you looking to gain experience in a secondary school before starting your teaching training?

Would you like to work in an 'Outstanding' English department in Birmingham?

*** English Teaching Assistant
*** Secondary located in Birmingham
*** MPS-UPS
*** Long Term/Interim, Full-Time role
*** September 2019 start

This is a traditional secondary school found in Birmingham. The school is famous in the area, and indeed beyond, for its status as a training school. This school is a favourite amongst parents and members of the local community which is why it is regularly oversubscribed due to its high achieving GCSE results. It can boast some top facilities (large grounds) and plays a big role in local community discussion. It is recognised for its exceptional track record with an 'Outstanding' Ofsted grade and commits to inclusive teaching in all lessons.

This role would suit an innovative English graduate who has previous experience supporting children and an impressive academic record and a 2:1 or better in your degree. Your portfolio will include the ability to think clearly and rationally in situations that you may not be familiar with. We want to recruit a graduate who has the skills to display a caring attitude toward their pupils that allows them to trust them.

In this exciting English TA position, you will be working primarily on an individual basis with a Year 9 student who displays some degree of dyslexia. For graduates who display enough natural teaching ability, there will be spaces made available on next years School Direct scheme. Though your day will be busy, you will have specific hours for your own development including observing lessons, learning teaching skills, and feedback sessions with senior teachers. Day-to-day, you will be embarking on your journey under the guidance of the Senior Leadership Team who you will find to be supportive and approachable.

Starting immediately, this English Teaching Assistant role will begin preparing you for an exciting career by allowing you to earn hands-on experience in a multicultural secondary School in Birmingham.

Please note: due to the volume of applications, only successful applicants will be contacted.
