Our 'big investment' in technology is underpinned by a commitment to provide our architects, engineers, and decision makers with quality trusted information sources, and the tools they need to define, build and assure the right solutions in Nationwide, at pace, and to communicate these plans with clarity and simplicity across the society. We're looking for a Senior Architect with the vision and commitment to drive through the delivery of improved capabilities in this area.

Who we are looking for
We need someone with the ability to influence, communicate, and lead the development of the tools and methods we use to determine and communicate our vision, roadmaps and transition states, and to provide assurance of our architecture across all architecture domains. We want you to lead and champion the embedding and development of the new framework and tooling capabilities across our architecture and engineering functions.

As a minimum requirement you will have experience in enterprise architecture and technology in large, complex regulated environments including the following experience and skills:
• Architecting complex systems and applications
• Bespoke software, commercial off-the-shelf packages, and 3rd party services
• Prioritising and responding to business and technology strategies and priorities
• Developing and implementing technology roadmaps
• Excellent verbal and written communication with a proven track record of stakeholder engagement and influencing both business and technical stakeholders
• Experience across the TOGAF domains.
• A passion for developing architecture capability through structured frameworks and tooling
• Have an attention to detail and be a completer-finisher
• Experience in designing, implementing and rolling out an EA tool such as Planview Enterprise One, Alfabet or MEGA

It would be nice if you also had:
• Financial Services experience
• Experience of building an as-is architecture landscape in Planview Enterprise One (or equivalent) with supporting integrations to tooling such as ServiceNow, ARIS and Flexera
• Experience of agile and iterative architecture methods.
What you'll be doing
You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team, developing the vision, roadmaps and transition states to move from the current to the target architecture for Retail Banking Products. You will be engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders, vendors and partners, in addition to key programmes and projects to provide oversight, direction and expertise, and to maintain alignment with the target architecture. You will also be leading the development and rollout of EA tooling capability across the architecture team.
The extras you'll get
If you put a lot in, it's only fair you should get a lot out. So, if you help us do the right thing for our members, we'll help further your career with us.

As part of our team you'll get:
• Access to training to help you progress and develop your technical skills and career
• Pension scheme where if you pay in 7% we'll top it up to 23%
• Life assurance worth 8x your salary
• 30 days' holiday plus bank holidays
• The ability to 'buy' up to 10 days more holiday
• Flexible benefits scheme giving you access to discount vouchers at various retail outlets
• Access to a Healthcare scheme
• Access to an annual performance related bonus scheme
• Company car or allowance worth £4,656
