Dartmouth have partnered exclusively with a prestigious mid-market private equity house in the search to find a Head of Finance for the GP. The fund focuses on investing in and supporting small, high growth UK-based businesses to continue and accelerate growth and achieve longer term success for both the fund and the management teams.

The company was established in 2016 and has seen phenomenal success since their launch. As such there is a need to formalise the internal finance function before a potential IPO in the next couple of years. The Head of Finance will lead this function having significant exposure to the senior stakeholders in the company.
Key responsibilities and duties
  • Lead on all finance matters for the business
  • Budgeting and forecasting for both the fund and the LLP
  • Business partnering with both the fund and management teams of the platforms in the portfolio.
  • Responsible for the preparation and issuance of monthly management accounts for the Fund and the LLP
  • Working with the investment team to produce quarterly net asset value reports and Cash flow forecasts
  • Responsible for collecting management information from the portfolio on a monthly basis.
  • Implementation and management of a cloud-based software package
  • Responsible for tax reporting and compliance.
  • Assist with the FCA application and ongoing reporting
  • Support with IPO preparation and ongoing PLC reporting requirements
  • Investment trust reporting and monitoring compliance with investment trust rules
  • Managing the year-end audit process
  • Point of contact with the external finance administrators
Key characteristics/skills/qualifications
  • Qualified chartered accountant and likely have audit experience
  • Experience as a fund accountant working with LLP managers, listed fund entities and financial reporting with portfolio companies would be useful
  • Enthusiastic individual with a willingness to learn and a 'can-do'attitude
  • Attention to detail and highly organised
  • Ability to take initiative, adaptable and a problem-solving approach towork
  • Able to fit in with a young, committed and sociable team
