Technology Programme Accountant (Global Markets IT â€" Regulatory and Strategic Programmes) Big Bank Funding. FinTech Thinking. Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank. Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts , as well as project and programme managers. We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham. Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2019 and beyond, we are currently seeking a number of experienced Technology Programme Accountants to join HSBC Technology. Business Area Overview The role of “Technology Programme Accountant” is one within this unit and the assignment of the individual to any given change programme will flex over time as will the nature of their specific role within that change programme. The Technology Programme Accountant role is accountable for the financial management of Technology Programmes either in isolation or as part of a wider Technology Portfolio. This Job manages change initiation, design and delivery and is accountable for successful delivery of the programme and ensuring benefits realisation. The remit area may be global and may cross multiple HSBC business areas. Specifically, at this time, the suitable candidate will be deployed to run the GM Basel III Programme Office. What you will be doing; In general, this role will carry out some or all of the following activities: Be responsible for the quality of financial reports and analysis across owned programmes, regions and entities Develop broad relationships with key stakeholders, across a range of internal and external functions Further knowledge in markets and products of specialisation, develop reputation as a Finance expert in related area of expertise Innovate to optimise financial processes and compiling reports, driving efficiencies and cost savings Lead, coach, train and develop a mid-size team of employees, both on and off shore Qualifications What you will bring to the role; To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills: CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS (Experience, skills, competencies etc.) A hands-on approach to making things happen, identifying and addressing issues and risks in the project delivery Excellent Business Knowledge â€" borne out of deep experience in a capital markets technology environment. Experience with IT accounting and cost management processes Exposure to global initiatives/projects/programmes and an understanding of programme governance / programme office procedures and processes. Ability to communicate, influence and negotiate effectively with peers and senior stakeholders in both business and technology / service departments Delivery-focused - to produce pragmatic approaches to solution delivery. Exceptional organisational, planning and management skills. Excellent analysis and problem solving skills. Skilled decision-maker â€" considered and timely. Impeccable written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision and to contribute to a larger team. Willingness to own work and problems and see through to completion and to use own initiative to resolve issues. Robust character able to deal with a diverse range of people. Self-motivation and a proven rapid learning capability in a changing environment are essential.
