We are working with an Ofsted rated 'Good' Further Education College based in Cumbria to recruit a graduate in Computing looking to move into teaching.

The Graduate Teacher Training Scheme is an excellent opportunity for graduates to be supported through their teacher training process and to be mentored by an experienced tutor through their teaching qualification.

This role is to start in September on a two year fixed term contract. There is the potential for a permanent position at the college upon completion of your teaching qualification.

Working closely with the college, staff and with your own 1:1 mentor, you will teach Computing at various levels to students.

Role responsibilities

To teach Computing up to level 3

To develop and deliver Digital courses

To undertake administration including lesson planning, schemes of learning, progress reviews, registers etc

The person & qualifications

Have graduated with a computing/digital (or related subject) degree within the past 18 months

Minimum level 2 qualification in English

Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of computing

The willingness to commit to the two year contract


Up to 39 days annual leave per annum
