A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work at an amazing building based in the heart of Central London.

It is one of the most famous building in London, steeped in history and would really a long term job opportunity.

The role of BMS Manager will be to operate the BMS system today and assist in shaping how it will operate in the future.

Our client is seeking a candidate to assist in the maintenance and support of the BMS on a daily basis and supports the development of the system to further improve environmental condition control, energy saving, system diagnostics and management reporting.

The BMS Manager will also works within the in house engineering team of four people and part time based BMS consultant engineer and reports to the Engineering Manager.

For information, the controls systems currently operates a BMS comprising 26 outstations utilising Allen Bradley process control hardware connected to a Rockwell Automation redundant head-end operating on Ethernet, with client workstations located at strategic positions around the building.

The BMS is responsible for the environmental control of all areas of the building in terms of ambient temperature and relative humidity and also controls natural and the internal lighting systems within the building.

The BMS also responsible for automating the operation of the steam, chilled water and LPHW production as well as monitoring energy consumption and all other miscellaneous plant equipment on site. There are also two Trend standalone local control systems controlling items of plant serving critical demised areas.

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows:

* Supporting the Engineering department in relation to the on site control systems.

* Logging and responding to all BMS related alarm conditions, ensuring that each alarm condition is reported to the helpdesk/onsite contractor, including prioritising calls.

* Supporting the engineering team with reports and data analysis in relation to the performance of the maintenance contractor.

* Developing and maintaining user-friendly and focused documentation for applicable systems/services and develop ideas for sharing and communicating good engineering practice and solutions with staff and all key stakeholders.

* Adhering to Health & Safety, building maintenance, IT Security and Data Access policies.

* Using the Service Desk application to log and manage calls, including allocating to others, and to ensure these calls are seen through to resolution, maintaining internal SLAs.

* Providing training to new employees and/or when new systems are introduced where appropriate, such as the introduction of new lighting or heating systems.

* Supporting the Engineering Manager and Director of Estates & Operations through the effective management of the BMS.

* Managing engineering assets according with regards to fixed asset policies and asset register.

* Developing key relationships with external consultants and controls systems specialist suppliers.

Applicants must be able to meet the following criteria:

* A related qualification (or equivalent) in engineering such as an engineering degree, NVQ or Higher Diploma

* Previous BMS or Controls experience within the maintenance environment.

* Experience of working in a customer oriented environment, with an ability to respond to a wide range of engineering user needs.

* Experience in the use of the Microsoft Office product suite.

* Experience of using an engineering Service Desk tool.

* Experience of working with Building Management Systems.
