Project Engineer (Mechanical)

We have a vacancy for a permanent, versatile Mechanical Project Engineer to join our successful team.

Flowguard in New Mills is part of the CoorsTek global group of companies which has been supplying bespoke precision components (pulsation dampers) for industrial pipeline applications worldwide for over thirty years in accordance with ASME VIII and PD5500.

WORKING HOURS: Permanent, Full time

Purpose

To provide multi-faceted technical expertise and project leadership in a highly regulated engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Review Customer spec's and completion of various technical documentation to stringent quality and auditing standards
  • Review contracts for feasibility
  • Work closely with the design and commercial teams
  • Development work for new products/lines/customers
  • Take an active part in continuous improvement activities

Essential Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Degree in Engineering discipline required. (preferably mechanical)
  • Proven ability to be flexible and adaptable within a small team and prioritise workload accordingly
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office & Microsoft Project
  • Must exhibit excellent attention to detail and listening skills.

Desirable /Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience in project management and/or improvement methodologies within an engineering environment would be a distinct advantage.
  • 2 years of experience in a related field would be preferable
  • Qualifications/experience in metallurgy, materials properties
  • EHS/Quality auditor qualifications would be an advantage
