Technical Project Manager - Windows - Famous Arts Institution
A world-renowned arts institution based in South Kensington is looking for a Technical Project Manager with a hands-on background.

You will be responsible for leading an enterprise-wide deployment of Windows 10. The project will include replacement of computer systems as well as rebuild of those systems that are compliant.

You will drive a team of engineers to coordinate a delivery of systems to 1200 end users and make sure all builds meet Cyber Essentials requirements and will collaborate with the Infrastructure team to establish a plan to keep Windows Updates and software applications updated.
  • You will be employed for 9 months, on fixed-term contract, but will be otherwise regarded as a permanent employee with an annual salary £60,000 pro rata.

Essential requirements
  • Proven experience of delivering Windows 10 desktop deployment projects
  • High levels of IT literacy including Microsoft Office Programmes (Word, Excel Outlook, Project)
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and innovation and to complete projects effectively;
  • Good communication skills including an ability to explain concepts, ideas and technologies to technical and non-technical colleagues;
  • Formal project management qualification (Prince2, PMP or equivalent)
  • Experience of operating with a high level of autonomy and the ability to manage others to ensure delivery to agreed timescales

  • Knowledge of Cyber Essentials and GDPR
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes
  • Experience with SCCM for end-point management

Main tasks:
  • Lead the effort to migrate all end user endpoints to Windows 10.
  • Manage the full project lifecycle from scoping to planning to deployment and closure.
  • Take responsibility for managing all aspects of the project including budget, risk and issue management, scheduling and quality control using agreed tools and methodologies.
  • Document all meetings and circulate minutes as appropriate.
  • Prepare status reports for the IT Programme Manager and the wider project board.
  • Work with the IT Programme Manager and IT Asset Manager to specify hardware and software and assist in vendor negotiations.
  • Monitor task status escalating when agreed timelines are likely (or are) missed.
  • Manage contractors and staff in deployment of hardware and software.
  • Ensure all aspects of the deployment and ongoing support of Windows 10 is compliant with Cyber Essentials security requirements.
  • Implement and maintain effective project management and the associated change management processes and documentation
  • Proactively manage the supplier relationships to facilitate project delivery
  • Work with IT and various internal stakeholders to review and plan the project, defining objectives, roles, tasks, milestones, budget and measures of success
  • Documentation of acceptance into service criteria; agree them with all stakeholders prior to Go-Live
