JHE & Partners are pleased to be working exclusively with a successful business which operates in the construction sector. Established over 25 years, the company have developed a superb reputation within their specialist area and as such enjoy a healthy client base.

Due to retirement, the company is now looking to recruit an experienced Company Accountant to join them on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Directors, this is a key role within the organisation and will form an important part of the Senior Leadership Team.

With two direct reports, the successful candidate will assume complete control of the accounting function for this £5million turnover business. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts
  • VAT Returns
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Analysis of sales, gross margins, standard overheads and other KPI's
  • Subcontractor payments
  • Managing company insurances
  • Fixed asset register
  • Administering the company pension scheme
  • Liaising with FD (and external Accountants) where necessary
  • Managing a Credit Controller and Accounts Assistant: Ensuring both Sales and Purchase Ledger is accurate and up to date
  • Overall responsibility of payroll

Applicants with be qualified or "qualified by experience". The ability to communicate with both finance and non-finance people is essential, as is a proven ability to handle a varied, busy workload.
