About the role:

Are you an enthusiastic administration superstar who wants to work in a fast-paced fundraising events team?

The Events Administrator forms part of a busy, passionate and highly motivated Special Events team at Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. Together the team raise vital funds, awareness and support the work of the hospital, and team are responsible for organising over 60 events annually.

You will get to work on multiple events in the portfolio by supporting your colleagues to deliver sector leading fundraising events. This role really is the linchpin of the team, and vital to ensuring events achieve their fundraising targets. Daily tasks will include management of guest lists, recording payments and guest information on our database system, Salesforce. You will process all payments, create invoices and be the first point of contact for event inquiries. In addition, you will assist with invitation mailings, sending out prize asks for our auctions and generating mail merges for our post-event thank you letters.

You will also be given the exciting task of managing our Summer Patient Party at the hospital, which is attended by patients of the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and their families.

About the team:

The 14-strong Special Events team, sitting within our wider Fundraising department, is responsible for managing a comprehensive and diverse programme of events for GOSH, GOSH Charity and Sparks Charity.

The team produce many of the charity flagship events, including The GOSH Gala, Love GOSH ball, the Velodrome Challenge and the Christmas Carol Concert, and are supported by event committees and high-net-worth volunteers. In addition, the Special Events team manage four annual parties for patients and their families at GOSH and work closely with other fundraising teams across the charity.

About you:

You will be interested in developing your knowledge of event management and different fundraising mechanisms. You will enjoy being the 'in the detail' and be able to demonstrate to a proven track record of working to tight deadlines, experience of multi-tasking and leading on several administrative projects.

You will have direct contact with our event supporters and attendees; therefore, it is imperative that you are able to communicate clearly and confidently with both internal and external stakeholders in both written and verbal interactions.

You will also have:

- A positive, 'can do' attitude with the ability to take initiative.
- The ability to remain calm and positive in a demanding environment.
- Proven experience of working effectively in a team.
