·LEAD and DRIVE as the RESPONSIBLE Engineer all Engineering aspects, developing and reporting of section programmes and ensuring that the works are conducted safely.
·Liaise between different site disciplines to ensure effective planning and use of project resources

Be fully conversant with, and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health, Safety & Welfare and Environmental Policies.

· Implement the relevant requirements of the ducting, drainage and pipework within the site.
· Ensure that their staff receive or have access to safety and environmental management systems and polices and are kept informed of all developments and issues
· Ensure that the staff receive suitable training appropriate to their roles and requirements of the safety and environmental Procedures and management systems.

Principal Duties & Accountabilities

·Managing and co-ordinating the activities of the site engineers to ensure all setting-out and quality control procedures are performed in a timely and efficient manner, so as not to impede the construction programme.
·Involvement with the development of the 2 and 6 week look ahead program and weekly progress meetings, simple benchmark productivity measures for the workforce and assess actual programme and productivity achieved for review at weekly progress meetings to include resource requirements.
·Complete inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works ensuring that all necessary documentation, as required by these statements and plans, is produced in a timely manner.
·Communicate with site manager, foremen, gangers, workforce and sub-contractors to ensure full understanding of information provided.
·Communicate to the QA and QS teams non-conformances, and any instructions received from the client / designer / RE's staff. Ensure that comprehensive records of resources employed on additional works are maintained.
Supervising responsibility for Engineers

Liaison with:
- Site Manger (line manager)
- Foremen (communication of all engineering requirements)
- Materials Engineer (arrangement of testing as required)
- Inspector of works (arrangement of inspection of works as required)
- Intermittent liaison with (General Foremen, Site Manager, Safety Manager, Environmental Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Planner, Buyer, Document Controller)

·Degree level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HNC in Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering
·Understanding of Engineering Principles
·Technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices.
·Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system).
·Relevant CSCS Card
·Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management
·Presentation Skills Training (as they deliver inductions / briefings etc).
·Previous experience of drainage, rising mains and ducting
·Setting Out.

·Degree in Civil Engineering
·Appointed Person - lifting operations
·ICE Training agreement
·Computer competence (Sypol COSHH database, SSPS Intranet database)
·Vocational Training (successful experience at engineer level)
·AutoCad competence
