School Finance Manager, Wembley

£40,000 - £50,000 plus attractive benefits

Our client, a highly entrepreneurial private school who have grown in size significantly since opening is 2015, are looking for a bright and ambitious Finance Manager to lead their finance team. Reporting directly to the COO, this role will be an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to be part of a successful school community.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing the process of invoicing tuition fees and any additional charges to parents
  • Reconciling bank accounts on a daily basis
  • Ensuring the credit control process is monitored and all fees are collected in a timely manner
  • Reconciling deferred income and the debtors balance on a monthly basis
  • Assisting in the production of the management accounts
  • Posting various journals (utility accruals, credit card allocation etc.)
  • Reconciling the balance sheet
  • Supporting staff and the admin team in the ordering of classroom materials
  • Raising purchase orders where necessary
  • Assisting with the annual audit process
  • Assisting the COO with any ad-hoc projects

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience working within either a school or charity environment. You will be a confident communicator, ideally fluent in French however this is not essential. You will be a problem solver, analytical in your approach and able to effectively manage a small team. You will be patient in nature and not afraid to have a hands on approach. This is a high visibility role and will provide a hugely varied workload and so all applicants must be flexible at all times.
