FLEETCOR is seeking a motivated Finance Controller for our growing UK business reporting into the Head of Finance. This newly crafted role will have primary responsibility for monthly and annual financial reporting across the UK business, legal entity reporting, regulatory and Tax reporting, and audit facilitation. You will shape, manage and lead all operational duties of the Financial Reporting team, ensuring monthly group reporting and regulatory reporting deadlines are met.
Some of what you will be doing
  • Coordinate the completion of the annual statutory financial statements, working closely with the external auditors to ensure timely completion of the audit
  • Ensure ongoing SOx compliance and implement new requirements as identified by internal audit.
  • Manage the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process, ensuring all accounts are reconciled in a timely manner
  • Maintain a "Best in Class" finance team that can evolve quickly in a very fast paced environment and believes in efficient collaboration both in and out of finance
  • Oversee all transactions related to the general ledger and financial reporting
  • Maintaining and forecasting cash flow and working capital requirements
  • Responsible for preparation and submission of VAT, Corporation and other tax returns and their payment
  • Provide holiday coverage for the Head of Finance
What you will have
  • Relevant accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
  • 5+ years of combined experience in accounting and financial reporting, with at least 2 years in a management capacity
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP and emerging accounting issues
  • Experience with producing financial statements and corporation tax computations
  • Experience of working within a business with a minimum of £100 Million annual turnover is desirable
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to coach others
