Job Title: Senior HR Advisor

Salary: £31,000 - £35,000

Location: South Yorkshire / Rotherham

OVERVIEW:

This is an Operational HR generalist role working for a large expanding organisation with numerous sites across the UK. The role is to fully support a very busy 'well travelled' Head of HR to provide expert HR support and advice to a Management Team of different levels and ability across the UK.

THE ROLE

- The role is required to fully support a very busy Head of HR in the delivery of an efficient, effective and commercially aware HR Department.

- To provide expert HR support and advice to the UK Management Team in ALL areas of HR.

- To write and deliver HR related training material for Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders across the business in the UK.

- Providing HR advice, ER, HR compliance on HR policies and procedures, - capable and experienced in 'complex ER cases', complex ER processes. Experienced in dealing with re-structure, redundancy and TUPE.

- Available and willing to support the Head of HR in HR project work - rolling projects out across multi UK sites.

- Supporting and offering HR advice and guidance to the HR team on HR matters, case work etc.

- ** Previous experience in assisting in driving a 'performance culture' across a multi-site business**

- Looking at performance management, skill gaps, working with internal stakeholders

- Making sure HR procedures are correctly managed and executed ie termination/exit processes - a keen eye for detail, and an organised person who will be able to maintain the correct process when working in a role that has high expectations and a very large work load. Being able to keep high working standards in all areas of the job at all times, being very disciplined, organised, confident and a true operational HR generalist.

- A very experienced HR professional in areas of absence management, disciplinary/dismissal, grievances, performance / capability - ie identifying/addressing poor performance with Managers and using tools such as performance improvement plans.

- Recruitment - supporting managers in the process

- Writing and delivering HR related Workshops - training sessions to site management (upskilling etc)

- Strong employment law knowledge/ HR policies and procedures/ up-to-date in new HR legislation

- Union experience required

- Experience of managing a re-structure and TUPE processes

- Experience of working in the FMCG sector and in manufacturing (essential)

- Good negotiating and influencing skills

- Strong IT skills

- Tenacity, confidence, experienced operational generalist HR

- Content working alone and representing the company in all HR matters across UK multi-sites

- Regular UK wide travel to sites - with some over-night stays

THE CANDIDATE

- CIPD 5 level

- A strong ER background (excellent employee relations experience at all levels)

- A sound understanding of employment law and case work experience

- Previously worked for some years in a large, demanding, FMCG manufacturing company with sites UK wide

- A strong confident operational HR 'generalist'

- Previously managed an HR team

- Ability to embrace and drive change

- Content to make HR decisions that are appropriate for the business at the time

- *Capable of working at this level on their own requiring very limited supervision*

- Organised in all areas of their work
