The Company:

A rapidly expanding Technology business with its UK Head Office based in a modern, high-end office space in Marlow. They are a highly ambitious organisation, working with some of the UK's most prestigious brands and employing highly creative, market leaders in their sector.

The Role:

As a key member of the finance team, you will work closely with the Financial Controller to enable the effective day to day running of the finance function and to provide the best possible financial support to the broader business.
RESPONSIBILITIES Financial operations:
  • Assist in the preparation of spreadsheets, reports and correspondence as required.
  • Plan organise and manage own workload
  • Ensure swift resolution of finance related queries
  • Provide support to team members
  • Perform routine calculations to produce analysis and reports as requested by the Financial Controller
  • Adhere to the company's financial policies and procedures
  • Look to develop system knowledge to become the team expert on the accounting software and act as the knowledge centre on this product.

Accounts Receivable ("AR")
  • Chase any overdue payments and escalate where necessary ensuring the AR aged position is kept clean
  • Answer ad hoc queries regarding AR
  • Ensure client services team are aware of their outstanding debt and help them manage this

Accounts Payable
  • Review payments to be made in AP
  • Ensure purchase orders have been properly approved and are in line with budgets
  • Answer ad hoc queries regarding AP

Financial Reporting
  • Prepare cash forecasts each month for review
  • Prepare the quarterly VAT return
  • Assistant in the preparation of the monthly Management accounts

Fixed Assets
  • Maintain an up to date fixed asset register and post related journals into the financial system
  • Ensure that Fixed asset position is reconciled and takes account of movements across all office locations.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Finance training either through a degree in finance/accounting or AAT / CIMA / ACCA / ACA exams, Qualification through experience.
  • Strong customer-service skills
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • High attention to detail
  • Good organisational, planning, problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Good knowledge of Excel and Word
  • A passion for numbers, accuracy and skills in calculating figures is vital, as is adeptness at paying attention to detail.
  • Sensitivity to the confidential nature of financial data
  • Ability to prioritise
